Help Lenders Deal with Rising Commercial Credit Risk
Charlotte, N.C., May 25, 2003 — Omega Performance, worldwide partner to results-driven leaders in financial services, announced today the release of Loan Management-Minimizing Problem Loans (MPL)—the company's proprietary training solution that addresses the advanced skills and knowledge lenders need to deal effectively with rising commercial credit risk.
MPL delivers best-practice approaches for recognizing potential loan problems, identifying appropriate solutions and minimizing exposure to lender liability. It is a hands-on program with a lender-oriented perspective that uses real-life case studies analysis.
"Capable lenders have training and experience in analysis and underwriting, but most need additional skills and knowledge to actively prevent and solve problem loans while managing the existing credit relationship," explained Juan Gutierrez, president and chief executive officer for Omega Performance.
"MPL addresses these critical needs. Participants learn to identify potential credit risks, determine the appropriate level of monitoring and required information, evaluate changes in credit risk to recognize early warning signals, and recognize lending that entails legal risk or exposure to lender liability. Lenders with at least one year of experience managing commercial credit relationships, credit analysts, loan underwriters, loan administrators, and loan review staff will benefit."
MPL is delivered as a two-day workshop. The recommended prerequisite for the program is Omega Performance's Commercial Loans to Business (CLB) or an equivalent training program, plus on-the-job lending experience.
